I gave the “N13 – Building Rich Client support for WebSphere Portal with Lotus Expeditor” yesterday and got some great feedback.
During the Q&A there was a lot of discussion around off lining Domino apps. The demos I showed had Portlets, SWT and Notes components wired together off line. There were about 75-100 people in the room and ~95% all had Domino and Portal. There was a large consensus that all Notes development has been limited to Domino, not notes client development, and the questions were all around being able to off line their domino apps for inclusion in CA's – obviously very web centric audience. They absolutely loved the fact you could off line portlets and integrate the Notes components with them as they stated they have a lot of legacy Notes apps that have not been web enabled.
What is your take on this observation? Is your company looking to off line Domino apps or are you going to be creating UI's using Eclipse SWT or still use Notes as the primary UI components?
