Ok, I know people like Ed Brill have already blogged about this but I just had to mention it. Sametime 7.5 is really a great piece of software. It is built on the base Sametime we all know and love but revamped from an internal IBM tool called Community Tools (which I have been using for almost 2 years). The new UI is fantastic and the features are amazing. The look and feel make me feel like this really is a fresh state-of-the-art application. The VOIP is amazingly clear and the chat window is extremely good looking and easy to use. I love the innovation in the UI and the transcripts UI is just as nice. The transcripts are saved in the same HTML as it was in the chat window. Here is a screen shot of a basic chat transcript shown in FireFox. I love how the time display is on the right and in gray – it is like it’s out of the way and not taking up valuable space on the left.
